Buying a Coupe Need HELP!!

Hello Everyone I currently Drive a 3 series, which is pending for sale, and am looking into purchasing a G. Any advice to what year I should get and why. what Im looking at are basically 6speed, Premium, Navi (fully loaded). I noticed that the interior looks different in 03 to 04 to 05 and headlights look different on an 03 to the newwer models.

Can someone fill me in on the specific changes between the three years? what I should look for and what I should stay away from.

Thanks Guys!

06 G35

I just recently picked up an 06 G35 pearl white fully loaded, sports package, premium package plus the intellient key system. I LOVE IT!! NO doubt I think I made the right choice for a new car! I think you should get the 06 no matter what...unless your looking for a used older year car. The difference between a new 06 and all the 03, 04, 05's is the Intelligent keyless entry system. It allows you to never need to pull out your keys from your pocket/purse to open the door or start the car. As long as the key is within 2 feet from the car and the dash you can start your car just turning the starter ****. That is one of the coolest part about owning a 06 model. plus you can open you truck also by the push of a botton as long as the key is in your pocket. If you need any other help just let me know.. I can tell you all about the new 06 models. I compared it from a 350z roadster cuz i originally wanted a convertable really badly! But after looking at the G coupes I fell in love! I hope this has helped you a bit! If you need to know a good dealership to go to and get a good deal...I have a recommendation. Go to the Costa Mesa Infiniti dealership and ask for Patrick! Tell him I referred you! He will give you a kick *** deal!

03 and 04 came with brembo brakes and 280 hp. 03 and 04 are basically the same. 05 comes with 298 hp, some minor changes in interior, 19 inch wheels and no more brembo brakes. Also, starting 05 you cannot get black leather with ivory pearl. Stupidest thing. I wanted to save few grand and went with 04, but if I were you I'd get 05 or 06, preferrably used with less than 10k miles from an infiniti dealeship. This way you practically have a brand new car with warranty, but save a few grand. Good luck.

Any reason your looking at the 2004? I'm a big into buying used cars so I don't take the initial depreciation hit. However, G35s hold their value so well that it really doesn't make sense to not buy new. The difference between a 2004 and a new 2006 from what I've found is only a couple grand at best. I think the used G35 market is inflated and there has to be a big price drop at some point.

I just looked at cars.com and the cheapest 2004 coup within 200 miles of me is $30K. That one doesn't have Nav, sport or anything.

I think the inteligent key is worth the extra money for the 2006. I saw it in action during a recent test drive and it really is amazing. I didn't think it would be that big of a deal, but I believe that within a few years all cars will be keyless like this it makes so much sense and it is so nice.

Im just looking at the 04s because that seems to be the best overall value, plus havent seen any used 05s. Is there any diffence between the 03 and 04 headlights? I think I saw an 03 and it had a different housing for the headlights. are they all xenon?

'06 have projectors, '05 were a little more clear while the '03-'04 had a small shade of tint in the front headlights.

any differnce in the engine between an 03 and 04 I know 05s have 298hp but some salesmen gave me some info, he said that "automatics have less hp than manual for all years" is this accurate.

04 coupe

I think it's funny that someone is arguing that depreciation isn't that bad on the G35. I bought my 04 6MT in November with 13K miles and everything except for Navigation for around $28K, that's about $10K of depreciation in a matter of 1.5 years. Might not be as bad for the G, but depreciation is deprecitation. I bought the 04 for the Brembo's and the price. The car will be tracked, so good brakes are a must...Intellegent Keyless Entry System, not so much. But I would have liked to have a few more HP's...I'm sure I can find a solution for that.
