The ultimate mix for keeping your factory head unit and bypassing the factory amp is to use the JL CleanSweep.
I did that with my Bose system - removed the Bose amp - went with JL amps, 2 10W6's, and replaced all the inside speakers...love it to the moon!

You don't really need to change anything out. Just add an amp and sub woofer and you're good. Use the factory speakers for the highs and mids. Just turn the gain up on the amp for the bass that way you can have the bass turned down on the radio which will allow you to use the factory speakers as I suggested above. Not show quality, but sounds good.

jl audio is tight, hardest hitting speaker i've ever heard
im currently runny a pair or jl 10 w3v2 with 500/1, going to up grade with jl13w6v2 with 500/1, i wonder how this is going to sound, Is this 500/1 amp strong enough to push a 13in w6v2? should i upgrade to 1000/1? any advice?
