its effin beautiful, especially when you roll to a stop with the car in second from about 30mph, foot off the clutch, and windows down, WOW!!!, plus when you almost stop you hear a little bit of the burble from the back-pressure!!!!!!! Choice!!!!

As much as I love the sound of the stock exhaust, the first time I heard a G with HKS, I knew that's what I wanted. A G with HKS is intoxicating. Someone told me that it gives the G that exotic car sound. I agree! Either way, I love it!

Thats one of the main reasons I got the coupe. I was in a garage and this guy was passing in an FX, they sound awesome too, and he revved as he was passing by. I was like, bastard, I have gots to get a coupe.....

oh no. he pulled me over cuz I crossed the double-yellow into the carpool lane and since I was in the upper RPMs, when I was pulled over he asked if my exhaust was stock...

i think turbo STI's sound really hot also, specially with an aftermarket exhaust, but the G looks way sexier... thats why i got a g35 after the evo8 instead of getting an sti.. that and the new look of the STI is fugly as ****..

Every time I drive through the parking garage at my work the parking attendant stops me after I get out of my car to tell me to "SLOW DOWN"...even though I never get past 15mph in the practically empty garage. I guess the exotic sounding exhaust makes people think the G is going faster than it really is.

I have only changed to the Z-tube and JWT Popcharger, and I find that makes the exhaust note much more fuller. It maintains the same pitch and howl but with a much fuller sound and increased volume. The stock G's intake tube with the baffle and the stock airbox is a bit too quiet.

I kept the stock exhaust as I didn't want to change that exhaust note. It is actually a nice and aggressive naturally sounding exhaust note without getting too overly loud and obnoxious. I didn't want to drive thru a quiet little neighbourhood sounding like a street racer. The combination is just right. You don't really have to rev it all the way up to hear the nice howl. Although, I'd swear that I still get tons of stares as I'm coasting by slowly. Cruising in underground parkades are the absolute best locations to enjoy the Coupe's exhaust (with all windows rolled down). That's when everyone stops what they are doing while staring at you cruising by. It's like "wait, I think I hear an exotic car coming...."

Late Model Mustangs with aftermarket Exahust are music to my ears...

love my G coupe with the Borla, with the nice deep bellow on the low end, and good tunes at WOT..

I like to pride myself that when in a parking garage or a block away, that I can make the call that "that's a G35Coupe" without even seeing the car. Just hearing it... I then wait for it to turn the corner and put a smile on my face.

I agree. A performance-engineered straight six or a flat six sounds awesome at high RPM's.. especially when boosted.

I like the way the old 5.0 mustangs sounded with a good exhaust too... but they have way too low of a redline to really fill out the entire audible range. Big loud V8's or larger usually sound nice as long as they are running well.

I hate when people do this. I get housewives everyday shouting at me to slow down when they are at the bus stop with their kids. I'm only doing about 30-35 in a 30 zone but keep the rpms high, but they aparently think I'm doing 60. I just couldn't resist stopping one day and telling one off, it was great.

ya, got a '00 Carrera4, they do sound great! But different enjoyment from the G...the C4 is more like engine sound, and the G is exhaust sound...both are nice!

Hahahaha...great thread.

I was thinking this exact thought this morning, "I just installed a kick a$$ Double din stereo, with mad crazy amps and speakers....and here I am, with the radio off, enjoying the sound of my exhaust" As awesome as my system sounds, I can’t help listening to the exhaust/engine more.

Guess it's the motorhead in me.
