TICK TICK TICK sound

Hey G's

I don't particularly remember hearing a lifter type ticking coming from the left front wheel area when idle parked .. moreso when warm.

I got 8k kilometers on it.

I dunno, I dont really care, but I dont really remember hearing that at all before, can someone check if their car does it too?

thanks dudes

laterrrrr

Re: TICK TICK TICK sound

Hey bro,, You're down 3 quarts of oil bro. top her up, she'll be fine.
J/K-- but oil that's due for changing might cause some noise.
An engine accessory such as power steering pump can tick tick.
A drive belt (serpentine) may be faulty. look for nicks or cracks. altho 8k on one of those is nothing.
If you've babied her for some time, she could need a wuppin' to clean up the internals. (not U, the car lol)
Other than something that may have fallen down the front of the engine, that's all I can think of bro.
A kiss, a caress, and a smoke afterwards works wonders--- the car, well it's an Infiniti-- she's fine bro.

Re: TICK TICK TICK sound

hehehehe

well, I just changed the oil about 1000 k ago, but they put in 5 quarts as opposed to 4.7 which the manual says it good.

I figured it'd be burnt off, maybe not and the lifters are stickin?

hmmm, I dunno, I'll check the huile later, but for now, noone else got this little tickedy tick?

P.S I gave it a massage and bought it some flowers, hopefully she'll perk up and put out !

laterrrrrrrrrrr

Re: TICK TICK TICK sound

I've go the same prob, Dally, but it's more of a TOCK TOCK TOCK sound

In all seriousness, I've got the same prob. It just crapt up two days ago, and I'm about 500 away from an oil change. I'm going to get it changed, so I'll let you know if it goes away.

PS. That reminds me of an old rhyme-
Hickory dickory dock,
Three mice ran up a clock.
The clock struck one...
and the other two got away with minor injuries.

hey are you guys sure it's the engine, every time you press the gas or hit the brake you should hear a click for each tire engaging the ABS.

Re: TICK TICK TICK sound

I dunno, its not gone, but its not there all the time.

I think its the lifters, I am gonna get the oil changed out again to the RIGHT level this time, its just SO hard to see on a shiney dipstick when the oil is sooooo clean.

I raced last night and got this weird sound that I have heard before, but only in my driveway where it seems to either echo it or somethin ... I dunno, its like a engine moving itself sound, it happened once when I was having a smoke outside after gettin out of er and let it run, and I know "engine move" sound is the worst explanation I can give but to say it sounded like ONE single engine knock or whatever I cant really because it didnt sound harsh, just not exactly normal.

Ohh, yeah and did I mention I hear alot of voices in my head?

joke, but maybe I am just dreamin it.

who knows, but I have never heard some the of the noises this car makes in my life.... and other times it doesnt make a bloody peep.
