AWD conversion for the G35 coupe?

Hi guys,
I was wondering if any of you have tried or heard of someone that tried to convert the G35 coupe to AWD?
I am currently looking at buying a G but I really wanted to get an AWD vehicle...
Thanks!

I was thinking of the AWD conversion myself. If one could find a wrecked AWD at a decent price it might be do-able, I just wonder how extensive the retrofit would be.

I think that is the ultimate mod if someone can pull it off.

I guess youd need the AWD drive a G35x, FX35/FX45 and then throw that in the coupe - along with a 6 speed gearbox (why waste it on a auto)...and WALA! You would have an AWD, 6 speed, G35 coupe. Prally cost you close to $50,000 to do it, but it would be sick!

50K$... that's insane. I know they do AWD conversions for Eclipse in a dealer here. I thought it would be simpler since the sedan has the AWD option.
Thanks for the info guys! I guess I'll have to satisfy myself with a RWD...
Pisses me off that there aren't any nice coupe available with AWD and manual transmission in Canada... Only option is the BMW with X-drive but I have the interior on the 06.

The G already weighs too much as it is. Adding AWD would make it a couple hundred pounds heavier.

Awd Conversion

We here have thought about this once, when a customer of ours brought it up. HE actually did have a G35X that wrecked and a Coupe. He wondered if it was possible to make his G35 Coupe An AWD.

Here was the Conclusion: Anything is possible if you want to spend the money.

DIfferences:
1:All Suspension pieces, they do bolt the same but at different lenght hence the space needed for the driveline parts

2riveline, includes transmission, transfer case, rear end (diff) and shafts

3:Front end and Rear Sub frames are different, only in the space needed, the G35 sedan is Slightly wider

4:Finding someone who would be willing and Most Important (ABLE) to do it.

So in conclusion It would be possible if you would want to spend that Kind of Money, Then Hack Your vehicle up.

sorry guys, it just not worth it, The Cost would be about two and half new G35's.
