Hello everybody, I've trolled this site for info for a while now, but this is my first thread. I think I'm finally going to buy a G coupe, but I have some questions... I'm probably going to buy a used one, but I might buy new if I can't find what I want. Hopefully I can find one decently priced with less than 15,000 miles on it. I want a 6 speed coupe, in gunmetal, or "diamond graphite" as they call it...

Are there different shades of gunmetal for different years, or have they been the same since 2003?

Also I can't seem to find many differences between the different years, is any particular year a year to avoid, or is there one that's better than another year (lighter curb weight, or better ECU, etc.)?

I'm in Southern California, so if anyone knows a good dealership to go to, or can provide any helpful info at all, it would appreciated... Thanks.

Are you looking for the premium package? If you are, don't buy the 05's.

I just want the most basic G35 6MT coupe... No wing, no sunroof. Brembo's would be nice... Can you not get brembos on the 05's or 06's?

Just out of curiousity, why is 05 a bad year for the premium package?

Also, infiniti.com lists the MSRP for 34,450 for a new 06... What kind of price is it possible to haggle down to?

The diamond graphite color did not change, but there is a lighter silver color as well for all years.

2003->2003.5+2004 = Minor cosmetic changes; different center console, etc

2004->2005 = Bigger changes; Redone interior trim, new guages, center console now flush with metal or wood trim options. Engine gets a little +hp, but also a little -tq. Forged 19" wheels are now offered for the 6MT (instead of non-forged 18") Also the revised "Sport-Tuned Suspension" Package is standard on the Coupe 6MT (includes thos 19" wheels and a viscous limited-slip differential)

2005->2006 = Redesigned exterior: New taillights, new new bi-xenon headlights, new front bumper/fascia with front lip spoiler "merged", new rear spoiler & side sills. Rear Active Steer is now avail.

Diamond graphite at least in Chicago is the most common color, so thats not a problem... Brembos are only on manual 2003's with the wheel and tire packages. 2004+ have can have upgraded brakes but not brembos . As for misc differences madchef covered it. There really isn't much difference. Navigation is nice to have and sometimes you can get it for cheap on a used car if you play your cards right.

Oh also if you buy used from an Infiniti dealer, expect to pay 3 grand more for the car (despite what they tell you).

Actually Beowulf, 04's have the Brembos as well (Since that is what I have) they stopped offering them for the 05's.

Can you explain why? 05+ has better interior If you want premium definitely get 05+ since it will look/feel more classy.

well the radio has volume **** and plays mp3s for starters.

05/06 has a significantly upgraded interior feeling and look. The little touches like real aluminum in the center console and trim is nice. To me it just felt a lot nicer when compared to an 03-04 interior. Brembo is only offered on 03-04, however the 05-06 brakes seem to stop just as well and cause little to no brake dust and last longer. I would personally look to go for an 05-06 if I were you, I think you would be a lot happier....and if you really want some bad *** brakes get some StopTechs aftermarket and call it good. =)

If you are buying used, I don't think you can be too picky.

Might be too late now, but if you can find a dealership that still has new '05s in stock, I think you'd get a better price on those than the '06s. Good luck.
