G35's in Magazines! Why Not?
G35's in Magazines! Why Not?
I am tired of going to the newstands and not seeing one article or tuned G on the cover. I am constantly having to look at the 350z and think backwards.
Did we not win car of the year. Is it not more head turning than a Z. Stillen has a sample. Veilside has something to offer. Looking at half of the rides in the photo gallery alone can spawn a few issues.
How will we ever get more tuning products if the demand is not seen.
I think we should start emailing the sport compact publishers with our comments and force them to take action to our growing community of G35 and Skyline 350gt enthusiasts.
Am I wrong to think this way.
I pulled up to a club with me Black Coupe/Full Tint/ Injen CAI/Eibach Springs/5Zigen Rims w/PZero's behind a Black 350z Track and the valet guy said I'll put this ride in front of the main door, while the guy with Z looked pissed as they drove his to the lot. My wife laughed her *** off.
We need to make them notice more. Here is a list of places to express your interests. I alone can not keep emailing my requards to them.

The G took every mag cover for months last year... I think the media just sort of goes "eh, what's coming out now?" No accounting for taste in that industry Until someone does something incredibly with a G (ie. The La Mans G being worked on), we probably won't see it. It's nice when someone take a turd and turns it into a diamond, but taking a diamond and making it a shinier diamond is not such big news.

Re: G35's in Magazines! Why Not?
well IMO i think why ther er a lot more afermarket stuff whether it's for aero kits or performance part for 350z simply bcuz 350z is a pure sport car and i guess the company who makes the aftermarket stuff feels like tha they will earn most of their bucks makin Aftermarket stuff for the Z whether then the G,
like some of the members on this forum often "expressed" that they think it's a "disgrace" to add any kind of body kits on it will make it look "Ricey" etc, those r the peepz that the aftermarket company is afraid of, simply bcuz they wont' make a profit from such sales.

Are You sure it was not 0 to 62 MPH? Since it's a british magazine, they probably measured the 0 to 100 KM/H which is a little slower. It's not only due to the extra 2 MPH but also because the driver usually have to shift to 3rd gear to reach that speed where you can loose a fraction of a second. Plus the 6.1s seems to correspond exactly with other magazine I read listing their numbers in KM/H (Canadian magazine)

I know how you feel.
I waited for years for decent mods to show up for my 97 prelude....while the integras and civics got all the cool mods.
The reason is simple - volume!
By your own admission (meaning g35 guys) - the coupe is more rare and special, while Zs are a "dime a dozen".
Well that what the manufacturers will make stuff for.., the common Z.
Also, b/c the Z is a "...sports car with a rebellious spirit" you can bet that the average Z owner will mod more than a G owner.
Lastly, an important part of the equation is the Z's long and storied history. The Z was sorely missed by drivers in ALL markets - and there's a lot of pent-up demand for it. It really means a lot to people to have the Z return...just like the warm welcome the supra will have...and the RX-7...and the Skyline GTR.
There's reaosn to be happy however - b/c the G and Z share so many internals..expect "Z parts" to fit pretty easily. Bodykits and interior mods are really all you lose out on...and mebbe warranties on the mods.
Either way, the G35 is a really nice ride. Be happy that your new skyline is way cooler than previous skylines!
