I know this has a TSB and it has been discussed on this forum, but I have only had my car for two weeks now and I've refuled the car a total of 4 times. The first time it was fueled by the dealer and the guage read full, the second time I filled it and it read half full, the third time it read a quarter full and now the fourth time it is back to over the full mark.

My question is, do you think that it will be ok now or should I bite the bullet and take it in for the dreaded TSB fix at the dealer? I am so paranoid about taking my car to the dealer from some of the stories that I have read on this forum.

 

I've never had a trip to my dealer that was anything but successful and helpful. Don't let one or two bad experiences make you scared... just got in and get it done. Now, are you 100% sure that it's the tank/gague? Could it be that the pumps you used cut off at diff. times? I know it's a long-shot, but it's still a shot.

The dollar amount for each fill up was similar so I'm pretty sure that the guage was wrong. I think I will wait for it to happen on the next fill up before I get the dealer involved.

 

Gotcha. Yeah, it's most likely the TSB, but I just hate going in to the dealer and saying "My radio doesn't work!" then having them say "Have you tried the power button?"... "oh..."

That hasn't happened (so far), but I just fear that, hehe.

My sedan just started incorrectly listing the fuel level. It used to go up well above the full line (as I really fill my tank full) and all of a sudden it would be below the line until I drove it awhile. My dealer installed a new fuel sending unit, but guess what happened after my latest fill up - SAME thing. I am going back today...
