G35 coupe seat

Does anyone have information on the final configuration of the new driver's seat? Specifically, the current coupe seat is too narrow for my size 34 rear end. I feel like I am sitting on the side bolsters.

Because the air bag is in the side of the factory seat, I am unwilling to replace it with an aftermarket seat.

Any word?

Pretty common gripe among coupe owners. The biggest improvement, IMO, will be the relocation of the seat controls. That would give another 1.5" of cushion play, which will solve the problem for most.

As for the seat width, aside from the benefit from moving the controls, I don't think the new coupe's seats could be more than an inch wider than the current ones, if that.

I'd kind of like to know if the rear of the bottom cushion will move independently from the back cushion. That would allow a lot of people to fine-tune the lumbar region for a better fit. Current coupe tilts entire assembly, keeping back-to-lower-cushion the same in relation to each other.

You can always take the seat to an auto/marine upholstery shop and have them reduce the foam, etc. They can do some amazing things if you find a really good shop in your area.

That may help you without sacrificing the seat and it's safety features for an aftermarket setup.

And on that Asian note...for all you tall Anglos out there...there's a seat mod to lower it further than the stock setting permits so your head isn't banging the headliner

Other than the stero system, the narrow seat/bolsters was my biggest problem with the coupe. I could live with the stero, but the seats pretty much make it a no go for my wide 38 inches. The 2006 sedan seat was huge even with the seat controls, so I'm not sure why the coupe is so small. I wonder what size *** it was designed for? Pretty sure it wasn't for us fat Americans. I undersand that if the seat is made too wide then it won't provide the necessary support. Maybe they sound have a bolster control as well?

Does anyone know for sure if this change is going to happen on the 2007 coupe? I assume it's likely since they made the change to the FX and then to the Sedan, but any hard proof would be welcome.

Just give it time to break in! With the crappy leather (vinyl on bolsters) that Infiniti uses, they will losen up in no time!
