Crazy Gas Gauge

ok.. so my gas gauge is going insane
I fill her up full, and the needle goes to half...
then I drive it out of the gas station, it goes to empty, then to 3/4 full then to full back to half, then to empty
it's just going mad

it's been doing this for a few days
is there some TSB for this?

As I know that the only 04s have this issue. Take it to the dealer they should fixed it. if you have NAVI, go to the information and hit the gas economy see what is going on.

i had the same problem with my 03 5AT G...i would fill itup and the gauge would only read 3quarters full and everytime i would drive it the gauge would read either more up or more down then when i left it....dealer covered it if it was under warranty...something with the sensors misreading the amount of fuel, not a big jop, you should have you car back the same day...

Its covered under a RECALL, the fuel lines or hoses tend to crack or something.... better get it checked out, they should fix it for free.

the recall does not apply to 2005 vehicles. plus his needle is going all over the place. i agree with fassster. probably just a sensor out of whack. should be a simple fix.

I hope it's just a sensor
