Terrible Dealership, is this normal?
I have a problem with my 05 coupe. When I'm on the freeway in 6th gear the slip light comes on and I lose power for a second because for whatever reason the traction control goes on.
So I take it to my South Florida dealership yesterday, they give me a loaner car. I get a call last night saying they found the problem and need to order a part.
They need me to drive 45 min. back to the dealership to drop of the loaner car and pick up my unfixed car. Then in 4 days when the part comes in I have to drive back another 45 min. , get a loaner car, and then pick up my fixed G35 again the next day.
They said if I dont return the car they will charge me for it. This seems very unprofessional and I'm pissed off. Any ideas if they are aloud to do this?
Thanks

For god sakes, I really don't see what the big deal is off letting you hold the loaner until your car is fixed by them. Technically, your car is under repair and you should only return the loaner when your car is fixed and ready to go. Ask them why you should come back to drop off the loaner when your car is not ready and fixed? Other than that, I really have no ideas for you except complaining and threaten to never bring it back to their shop. Yes, that seems very unprofessional. Sorry to hear about your situation.
That sounds unreasonable. if it was something like a splash guard or
something that doesn't affect drivability that might be ok, but that's
a mechanical defect on the car. it's a safety issue.
Jot down the name of the dealership and the service advisor's full name
here. then, write to corporate Inifiniti and file a formal claim.

Sorry, but I don't see why you are making a big deal out of this.
I drive 50 min to work and 50 min back everyday.
They identified the problem and will fix it under warranty.
Your car is drivable - Why would you assume it is unsafe because the traction control lights-up? Does it drive any differently than when the light is not on?

Although I totally understand, I would guess that the dealership is technically paying for the days your have their car. This happened to me while they were ordering my seat rail to fix the creaking noise in my seats. Although my drive is only 20 minutes, I have to do the exact same thing as you. Funny, I'm at home right now on Saturday night at 6:30 pm, when the car was suppose to be fixed an hour ago. They are working after hours (they close at 5) to fix my car today so I wouldn't have to return again (although, they probably have my car seat all in pieces).
yeah **** infiniti dealerships all they do is **** you off except when you buy the car...i went there because my ****ing speaker was loose in the back and they would tighten it because "they dont do that" i think they just try to take advantage of younger kids since we dont know anything so they bull**** us....the lady that was in the service department at my dealership i about layed out she was all tattoo'd up...but so yeah infiniti service is the worst

Not me...
Well, here's an update. I dropped off my car on Saturday for the creaking chair noise but they couldn't finish it. So, after a few updates from the service manager, he tells me my car will be ready tomorrow (they broke the trim piece and ordered it so it took an extra day). In the end, I had the loaner IP Sedan (man, I'm glad I didn't buy the sedan, especially in 5AT) for a total of 4 days. He actually said for me to keep the car while the trim piece is on order. I'm guessing each dealership has it's on discretion as to how long they would want you to keep the car. For me, 4 days now. If they even bring up the gas issue, I will yell bloody murder!
I would agree with tspree,
It's inconvenient me to take trips to the dealership on thing's happening to a car with less than 30k on it or whatever the case is... people work and time is money.
When I had my car done under warranty and they had to order parts even if it just took a couple days to order it they would just tell me.. "Keep the loaner, we're deeply sorry this is taking long but we're doing the best we can, and to top it off don't fill up the gas it's covered by Infiniti".
Although my car was drivable, it had worn brakes and rotors but I could of definately pushed another 3-5k on them. Also they resurfaced 3 rotors, replaced one and all 4 pads (brembo's). I bought the car with 24k and rotors and pads worn by 30k so dealership did it out of good will.
