so i was down in santa monica at the bowling alley on pico and like 10th or so.. and i started heading back home and by westside pavilion i stop at the light and a boxster pulls up beside me. it was a young guy but i didnt think he wanted to race so the light turns green and ew both go off pretty fast but not like racing. next light turns red. i complement him on his car and ask him if he wants to race, he said sure. so light turns green and we go at it and im messing up between EVERY GEAR. took me a good second to shift from first then from 2-3. but i stil beat him. we went up to 100 then we were getting toooo illegal so i slowed down. fun race. BTW, there was a white coupe being driven by some asian guy and i gave him the thumbs up and he flicked me off. wtf is that about, i hope your not on this forum

i think FDNameBrands could be right, he might not have seen what you were signing, so he must have assumed.. either that or he's just a *****.. i've given thumbs up to some older folks in their g35s (sedans/coupes) and they've given me fingers back.. and that was in broad daylight.. oh wells..

Funny you mentioned about flicking you off. One time a white boy in a black coupe flicked me off while I gave him a thumbs up. WTF! Then again, he probably thought I flicked hime off too .

 

You didn't buy these cars for to be in the happy wavers club...only bikers (motor) are great at consistently waving a friendly hello. Hell guys used to wave me hello on the opposite side of the turnpike with a barricade. Sorry but I'm too areodynamic to wave at 80 and screw up my windstream.

Beetles have a nice team of waving owners

 

Yep, been a motorcyclist for 20years now, we all wave happy happy to each other, kinda weird actually. 'Vette drivers do it too.

My other car is a Ninja - but instead of "thumbs up", I always give a wave, or a head nod. It's pretty hard to mistake those gestures for anything other than good intentions.
