A/C working properly
A/C working properly
If this is in the incorrect forum, I apologize. I first went into the "tech" section and found nothing pertaining to A/C. My question is, is my A/C working properly. 06 coupe. 80 degrees today. My A/C is, and is always, on auto, not econ/auto, just plain auto. The thing is that it just doesn't seem to get cold. It gets cool, but not cold. In fact, going home for lunch today, the fan blew on high the entire 25 minutes ride. Is this normal?
I never use the auto function, so it's hard for me to say. But if you were in stop-and-go traffic, it's no surprise. The A/C stops blowing as cold (hardly cool) when not moving. It's a Nissan thing, as my wife's '05 Pathfinder is the same way. Not sure if this is part of your issue or not.

And I really wasn't in stop and go conditions.
It was 100 degrees here on Tuesday. My thermometer in the car read 115.
On such hot days, the A/C has a very hard time if I'm drawing-in outside air. Only when I turn it on recirculate will it start to chill down really good.
I rarely use the A/C or the recirculate button, but there are days that leave me few other options.

Well, what is the temperature that set your A/C too? Damn, it's hot in your guy's neck of the woods! I'm by the beach so I think today we may get about low 70's. I think when you set it to auto, it won't cool you off *** much as when you just turn on the A/C w/o Auto on. Try it and see. I know my car gets cold with the A/C on at 74 degrees F.

Absolutely something wrong. It's trying to cool (hence the high fan speed) and isn't succeeding. It's either a temp sensor problem or the refrigerant has leaked out.
Best get it checked out. You'll find that if it's a leak, warranty probably wont cover it, but if it's a sensor issue it will.

Something is wrong with your AC; I work in Galveston Texas most weekdays and sometimes I show up and the garage is full so the G is outside... Got in the car yesterday (was one of those rare outside days) and the temp read 98 when I started the engine... The AC is set to 74\Auto\Recirc most always and it ran on high about 8-10 minutes and started to slow all the way to a low fan speed within 20-25 minutes
Have a look, maybe that's it?

Mine aways works well, it should be cold with in the first 2-3 minutes. High fan speed for that long of a time is a bad sign... I've only noticed the air struggling a little when its past 100 degrees outside.
