Hey everyBADY! anyways... I noticed when I drive my car for the first time in the day, no matter what time it is or the temperature, when I go into 3rd gear, it crunches like..50% of the time... sounds horrible and a tear comes out of my eye. Lol.. I find that if I shift gently and slowly I can make it so it doesnt crunch, but do you think I should take it to the dealer and have them check it out? **New TRANNY HERE I COME?!**

 

I had the same problem with my VW. The syncro's were bad and because of it all of third and fourth gears were tore up. Good thing it was under warrenty because that would have turned into a $2k job.

 

I have had a similar problem. With mine, you can jus "feel" two or three teeth as it slips into gear. It only does it once or twice and only does that about once a month. I don't "hear" anything however.

 

i have something like that as well accept mine is a 5speed auto when i hit 3rd gear and i ahve it at about 4k rpms it almost sounds as though its grinding,,,or the drive shaft is hitting something when its spinning its odd..hopefully it isnt the transmission

 

mine crunches in 5th gear like 25% of the time. but i noticed it happened after i intalled my rouge short shifter. i hope nothing breaks :[
