Going out of Town with the G - need advice.

I just bought my car a couple weeks ago and I will be going from Houston to Dallas about 4-5 hr drive. Is there anything i should do to protect the car? When i get there should i give it a good wash when i get there?

If you happen to have one of those bra's im sure that would help for all the damn bugs... Infiniti's colors are so sensitive that if u happen to come in contact with one of those big a$$ bugs it could get ugly

Your best bet would be to buy a leather bra from the dealer for like $90 +/-. That's what I use everytime I take a long distance trip and boy it sure was worth it. I hit a tumble weed going 100mph and knew I got my money worth.

I bought my G from Austin and drove it back to Dallas. Even from that drive I had a few rock chips and a lot of bug kills. Luckily I had a clearbra installed before I left Austin, so it is a good idea for you to get something because it will get hit. And you should def. detail once you get to home, because you're G is gonna need it.

OR......

You can just drive your car and enjoy it! I made the Houston to Dallas and back to Houston when it only had 1500mi on it. Yeah it had a rock chip here or there, but I figure you can just get the bumper repainted for the same price of a clear bra.

But if you wanna protect it just for peace of mind, then just get a leather bra for the duration of the trip. If you leave it on there, then dirt will collect underneath it and cause scratches, but if you just use it for highway trips, and then take it off when you get into town, then it won't harm it at all.

its actually a very good and cost effective idea. a clear bra will set u back quite a bit and you still need to clean your car often so that its hard to see.
my buddy used painters tape coming from new jersey to california on his bmw m coupe and it turned out fine, just wash and wax and all the residue, if any, is gone.

painters tape = 6 bucks

but i took my car from southern cal to vegas with just a couple rock chips, not bad at all but next time i will prob get a leather bra and use a bit fo painters tape...

Cover up the mirrors too. We rented a minivan for a 800mi trip and the mirrors were sandblasted once we had arrived.

Just get a leather bra and only use it when doing a long drive, when you get back take it out and store it. Or just put a clear bra but that will cost you $600+ for full front.
