Strut Leak

My car was recently in for service and the dealer mentioned that one of my front struts has a leak and they ordered a new one.

I am wondering if it makes sense to only replace one? The car has 35K miles on it. Wouldn't there be a difference in firmness between one side of the car with an old strut and the other side with the new one? Does the car have to be aligned after this strut install?

Anybody have any experience with this??

I think it should be fine.. if its under warrant then thats why they are only gonna replace 1... i dont think an alignment is necessary. For firmness i doubt you would notice just one strut... maybe if you got two done.. either front or rear or left or right.. then ya
