resetting EQ in bose is driving me insane!
first of all the sound quality coming from the bose in my 05coupe isn't anything above average. i realized that the EQ setting would reset after the motor has been turned off for at least 10 minutes. while the headunit would still say +5 bass and treble, the sound quality would be dull. after hitting "audio" and moving it from +4 to +5 bass and treble the sound quality would suddenly kick back in and sound a lot clearer/powerful. after more searches i've come to the conclusion that nobody cares anymore and that the bose system in general is a failure to satisfy many costumers. i brought it back to the dealer and they suspect it's a faulty CD player. somehow i doubt this because other members from other forums have had every component replaced. what to do? just live with it just like every other 05 G35C owner?

Until Bose comes up with some kind of firmware upgrade we'll all be living with it.
I have my 'reset' routine down to about 3 seconds - it doesn't bother me much anymore...
I wish it wasn't a problem, but reading here has convinced me that replacing individual components does nothing to fix things, so I haven't even bothered to talk to the dealer about it. I see no point in letting those clods dis-assemble my dash to try things that have already been proven ineffective.
I think the system in the sedan is decent. Compared to other stock sound systems at the same price point, it's about average.

Does that mean it's better not to pay the extra $3,000 for the Premium Package? I am in the market for a G35 coupe and audio is a big thing for me. I don't see anything in the premium package that's attractive beside the Bose system and the auto headlights. Am I better off saving that $3k?

You probably got 05.5 model ( if they even fixed it then or just don't notice / bump your music that loud to hear a difference ). My 05 G35c has the same problems, but doesn't really bother me now, its a routine now that everytime i start my car i push those buttons. only takes about 2-3 secs.

nope still sounds with deep bass right after i turn my car on...if i turn it down to zero i can hear the difference...at least to my ears...lol
edit: just went to the garage and confirmed it. it stays at +5 and it sounds like +5 too after turning off the car and turning it back on.
