I dont know about when your driving... but im sure you know that... if you press the unlock button on your key fob and dont start the car.. your car will automatically lock... or is it if you dont open the door ??

yeah after a while under certain conditions the doors lock automatically so that explains the garage issue.

The doors will re-lock if you don't open one door in 40 seconds.

not if you never lock the doors after you turn of the ignition.

If I pull into my garage and turn the car off and don't lock the doors, they stay unlocked until they are locked.

I think they only lock themselves if you actually locked the unstarted car and then unlocked it but did not open anything within 40 seconds
