Unhappy Oh man!

Some guy backed into my G35 while I was parked. He was trying to back into a spot and dinged my front hood, Infiniti emblem fell off and the bumper was pulled out a little bit. And the truck didn't even have any damages! Why can't people be more careful!#@$%%! The body shop estimate was $2,205. And his insurance is taking their sweet time trying to process my claim so I decided to go through mine. I hate having to fork out my deductible for something that wasn't my fault. But hopefully my insurance will recoup it from his. I just wanted to get the work started quicker.

Your impatience is not worth the deductible you are spending to repair this.

Yeah. I can't stand people that can't drive. I find one of the farthest and most isolated parking spots wherever I go. Good luck with the insurance companies. I had a similar situation where the other guy didn't even have insurance, Geico (my insurance company - sorry for the plug) payed for it, and then went after the guy for a little over 6 months. My re-imbursement for the deductible I paid finally arrived after that time.

You shouldn't have to pay deductible if it wasn't your fault.
Your insurance should get it from the other company.

There's your problem! I don't bother.. I park as close to the front as possible and always next to other cars... my car remains major scratch and ding free.

I wanted to car to get fixed right away because we're moving cross country in a few weeks and I wanted the car in tip top shape, just in case they'd find more damage beyond what I could see.

My insurance said that my deductible should be reimbursed, it might just take awhile. But at this rate, I was better off if the guy would've just taken off and not said anything ... my insurance will waive the deductible for uninsured motorists or hit and runs.

hated!! Not that I have much of a choice becaue I think the no fault laws of Florida dictate that a person has to go through their own insurance company but I would have done the same thing you did by taking it to my insurance and letting them deal with the other aholes insurance.

I have narrowly missed a few bad dings both in parking lots and on the road. Knock on wood; I hope I escape em at least for the first 18 to 24 months. Forever would be nice but not realistic.
