Does anybody think that the new bodystyle is gonna make this one obsolete?

Maybe obsolete is a strong word...but you know what I mean...Reason I'm asking is because I'm really close to purchasing a G35 or possibly an FX but I can't lie and say that it hasn't crossed my mind that the new bodystyle might cause me to be slightly dissapointed making my payments....I've suppressed this thought many times however because I love the styling of the current G....I hope its like the 3 Series (My other love) where the old bodystyle is still very much relevant and possibly even better to alot of people.

I went in to buy my 06 knowing the remodel was coming in 07, I never onced thought about waiting for an 07 because I don't ever want to buy a first year car and have all the problems that the manufactor never found.

I like the new body style, but not as much as the current one. The current body style is so unique and so sexy at the same time. The new body style looks a bit bloated while this one looks trimed and fit.

I like the 07's and think they look a lot better and the interior puts the current generation to shame.

I bought a 1998 Maxima and kept it through two major revisions. Until I sold the car last year for the G35, I still thought the body style of my car was damn nice. I would love to have the technology present in the upcoming G, but based on past experience I'm sure I will be just fine with my '05!

the new body is horrible. it looks like an FX35 and an M45 had sex and gave birth to that crap.

it looks a lot more classy than before, mostly because of it's interior; but all that claim of the G35 sedan being a sports sedan is now out the window if this model holds up.

to me the 07 is not a first year car, it is a revision of the same 03 that the 05 was a revision of. the mechanics have not changed enough to cause serious manufacturing problems. But the styling changes to me are not super drastic but I havent seen the new G in person so it's hard to tell until then what it will do to the old body

you know how the 95 - 99 eclipse body was one of the greatest sellers at the time?

well once they switched the body to the 2000 model, the sales dropped drastically.

what did mitsubishi do? they went back to a more similar style to the crowd favorite eclipse.

i wouldnt be surprised if this is what infiniti will do. personally, they have killed everything that the G sedan stood for. im beyond disappointed; if you like the body that is scheduled for 07, then just buy an M.

07 will not make the 06s obsolete, this is clearly more of an evolution than revolution (at least on the exterior) but it will be one more factor in resale value depending on how long you keep the car. That differences is usually made up in the fact that you can negotiate a better deal on the 06 and start enjoying it sooner, so it kinda comes out in the wash.

Of course, the 07 owners will have every opportunity and right to crow about how much better their model is, just like us 05/06ers get to gently tease the prehistoric 03 and 04 models

I like the 07 aside from the spoiler/fridge handle on the trunk. Looks like a Taurus.

I agree - I keep reading people calling it a first year car... It's not. It was in 03 (and I might have been concerned then) - but the 07 is not a completely revamped "first year car". In fact, any problems that may have been associated with previous years G35s are probably addressed in 07 that would make it less of a concern.

I happen to like what I've seen of it - a lot!

i agreed with you saying the 07 owners will bash on the older models, but you saying the 05's and 06's get to bash on the 03's and 04's??? yeah, funny stuff, because your hood and rear lights MAKE ALLLLLLLL the difference
