My Review of the Z-Xtreme Grounding Kit

My Review:

Took my friend and I an hour to do...no real problems at all. I did the Z-xtreme Kit. With everyone's Pics it was pretty easy...so thanks for all the pics!

I chose the blue kit and at least it looks abslutely awesome, but both of us could not tell any difference at all.

My car starts the same...it idles the same...I can easily hear the engine running when it's idling...wihtout resetting the ECU via the Battery Disconnect I coudn't tell any improvement in shifts via D or Manual Mode...nothing was wrong, but it just didn't do anything.

IMHO it was more of a fun thing to do that looks great, but got me no bang for the buck...

If anyone can suggest why this is, I am all ears! I have attached a pic...I have more if necessary...so if I did something wrong, again, please let me know. Thanks.

Re: My Review of the Z-Xtreme Grounding Kit

Should have got Gordon's 7 wire set. Do you have the 5AT?
The 7th wire really helps there. I see you don't even have the
6th wire.

Re: My Review of the Z-Xtreme Grounding Kit

I have the 6th and 7th wire...they are both installed...where are you looking? That one pic is kind of small so it meets the bandwidth requirements, but I can post others...

And yes, it's a 5AT.

Re: My Review of the Z-Xtreme Grounding Kit

Gordon's #7 wire goes from the rear left plenum ground point
directly to the transmission, and his #6 wire goes from the front
plenum ground to the drivers side front strut tower. Don't see
the #6 in your pic.

Re: My Review of the Z-Xtreme Grounding Kit

GroundingGear™ takes the 6th wire off the front cluster. Z-xtreme's attaches to the right rear of the intake plenum. It's that wire just ducking under the silver intake duct in the above picture.

I got it. Didn't see the wires around the intake duct,
the pic is so dark there.
Bosssho, don't turn on your radio or cd for a while and
really listen to your G drive/ride. I think you will begin
to notice the things you say you can't right now. Notice
the fuel gague and tachonometer. Give it a few days
and let us know if you don't notice anything different.
I think you will notice some improvements.

Re: My Review of the Z-Xtreme Grounding Kit

So are you and Gord saying the mounting points are all ok on my engine or do I need to readjust anything?

I will keep you guys posted wihtout a doubt...I am swamped this week with other stuff going on, but I want to ensure I installed everything correctly and then go from there.

thanks for all the help

Yeah, your ground points look the same as Gords. The wires
are connected a little differently. Should not make a difference.
Notice how easily the G starts now?

Re: My Review of the Z-Xtreme Grounding Kit

I saw a post on the grounding kit in another forum. I didn't feel like reading several pages to find out what is is all about.

What is the benefit of doing this mod?

Re: My Review of the Z-Xtreme Grounding Kit

Looks killer, results in a few added HP and torque (not noticable),
engine runs smoother, Automatic Transmission shifts quicker
in Manumatic mode, fuel gague reads consistent, etc..etc
For the money, it's well worth the upgrade.

Re: My Review of the Z-Xtreme Grounding Kit

This sounds like a well "grounded" bunch. Pun intended!
