Happy 1st Birthday to my G35x!

Today is the one year anniversary of buying my 2005 G35x. After a year I have to say I still love the car...and even with winter weather here in MA the car still looks great. Yes I get annoyed by the brakes squealing every so often, and every so often I hear rattles the dealer hasn't been able to fix, but darn it, she's my baby and I still love her!!!

And I haven't done any mods yet. The only thing I did was swap out the driver side tire for the spare because I fu**ed up the original one about four months ago.

Happy Birthday!

Congrats... I'm about to have the 1st year bday for my Baby G35x next week. I also live in MA, and I kept it keeping clean. She got a nice detail last weekend. Looks brand new!

How many miles have you racked up? Bought my G last April and I have 14,200 miles on her. I hate carpooling with the wife in her CRV, but it keeps the miles down on my G and saves us some money in gas.

I racked up 14k the first year, which is tolerable for me considering I used to put 20-24k/year on my Maxima with my former job. On the weekends I try to keep it in the driveway and use my wife's Highlander, as she only puts something like 6k a year on it (she works very close to home).

I'm surprised at how good the car still looks after a year, but I try my best to keep it looking new. This past winter I neglected the rims and it showed, but I was able to clean them up and they look great again.

Do you get the brake squeal all the time or only when you hit the brakes lightly? I only hear it when I hit the brakes lightly so if I push them down further than a small tap you don't hear it.

Exactly JGFox - I only get the squeal when I hit the brakes lightly - anything else and there's no noise. I had the dealer look at them and they supposedly added a chemical to the brakes. It reduced the noise but not entirely, but it's better than before.

My 05 G35X turned 1 in April. I'm just about to turn 30,000 miles. I changed the brake pads for these:
PBR/Axxis Metal Master from a seller in the Classifieds on this site. They are great. Almost no squeal, and almost no brake dust. Also a better, firmer pedal feel.
Seller's name is Import Replacement Parts, Phone: 425-357-6818. Email address is sales@importrp.com and the name of the guy I spoke with is Jeff. I'm not affiliated with him, I just like the product.
I changed my pads at 20,000 miles even though the original pads had some life left but I was changing the wheels and I wanted to get rid of the brake dust. Anyway all that to say I still love the car too.

I feel like i only get the squeek in the morning pulling out of the garage. Once the car is warm, its not so bad. i barely hear it. Perhaps i'm a lucky one. But they do suck. Break dust is terrible. I need to invest in some ceramic pads

Kudos, and continued enjoyment of the X.
Good thing for full sized spares..
