remove the dealership sticker

I told the sales not to put their sticker on my car like the other cars on the lot. they still did it. now how can I remove it and glue without causing any damage to the paint? I'm not crazy about becoming a moving ads for the dealer.

Re: remove the dealership sticker

Should come of real easy since they just put it on, just don't wait too long and leave it in the sun.
Also using a hair dryer to soften the glue helps. Good Luck.

Merlin.

Re: remove the dealership sticker

I agree. It's annoying when they stick it on your paint. My dealership at least uses plastic license plate frames. Those I don't mind so much, as it doesn't jack with the car.

It's even more annoying when, everytime you bring it in for service, they notice the missing sticker and put another one on.

Re: remove the dealership sticker

just pick it off carefully with your fingernails, then to get the glue residue off, use some bug and tar remover spray or creme, and it will come right off.

Re: remove the dealership sticker

if you're careful, try a razorblade. usually cuts it right off and they're thin and sharp enough to not do anything to the paint..

i hate when dealers put their emblems or stickers on the cars.. makes it look tachy (sp?) i'm glad my dealer only uses license plate holders.

Re: remove the dealership sticker

Whether it's a sticker or and actual emblem, the easiest way to get it off it to spray WD-40 on the spot and let it sit for a minute. That should do it, but if not, use a hair dryer and start peeling it off while you blow dry. When done, clean the area with soap N water and dry off. WD-40 has a label on the can that even tells you it can remove stickers and stuff. I've done it on my old car and it's perfectly safe. Good luck.

Extension cords from inside the house or from inside the garage.

Re: remove the dealership sticker

I Canada, most apartment parking spots have electrical outlets. Otherwise, it'd render our block heaters useless! LOL

Re: remove the dealership sticker

I think they have butane powered hair dryers (check Wal-Mart) but you probably don't want to spend $25 just to remove a sticker. Maybe a friend has a garage??

BTW, I abosutely HATE that dealers do that. They should pay you for being their advertising.

Drive safe, have fun, kick butt when necessary
