Differential Gear Ratio
Differential Gear Ratio
Hi All,
I came across a thread earlier regarding engine rpm vs. vehicle speed.
I noticed my '06 Sedan with Sport Package revs. @ ~3,200 rpm when cruising at 80mph in top gear, which seems to be higher.
Does a '06 model with VSLD has higher differential gear ratio?
Thanks,
Nelson

I agree, from what I have read, the final drive ratios have not changed with year models.
The manual and auto RWD models should be within a couple hundred rpm in final drive.
The Auto RWD is 3.357:1 with a final drive ratio in 5th of .834:1,
whereas;
The 6MT RWD is 3.538:1 with a final drive ratio in 6th gear of .794:1
So the changes in the differential gear ratios is somewhat compensated by the transmissions final gear ratios when in top gear.
The AWD differential ratio is 3.538:1 with the autos 5th gear ratio being .834:1
