Which one would win, 2007 530i smg vs. 2006 g35 auto

I know that the new bmw 530i smg will be way better than g35 on the corners, but what about straight line racing. I'm just curious.

thx...

i stand corrected:
Curb Weight: 3472 lbs for the 530i ... wow. WAY lighter than i expected. regardless:
Base Number of Cylinders: 6 Base Engine Size: 3 liters
Base Engine Type: Inline 6 Horsepower: 255 hp
Max Horsepower: 6600 rpm Torque: 220 ft-lbs.
Max Torque: 2750 rpm Drive Type: RWD

G will eat the 530

that's true. their inline 6's perform pretty well, but still i think the G would take it. it's the same 3.0L in the 330i i believe... and the 5 series is heavier than the 3 by a little bit. i dunno, auto v. auto, the g should win.

The G will win that race.
Now my mom's 545i on the other hand, not the same story. I raced my dad when I just had a 5/16" spacer, intake and exhaust and he ate me for lunch. Now with the Stillen stage 4 I have the upper hand again but hers is still stock.

545/550's are a beast! 360hp/360ft/lb torque and they weigh in around 3700 lbs i believe...

that's some solid power for a sedan that size. i've always loved the 5 series... M5 and the old 540i's got me in love with sporty sedans

U will take him. They are as fast as E46 auto 330s(330 having a little edge) though.

If that's what you think of as a beast, we need to get you a ride in some more cars.

That's a fairer assessment of the vehicles. I have to agree with you. My "realistic" dream car is the soon-to-be previous generation M5. Great power and performance in a good sized sedan.
