Brakes under warranty?
The issue with the brakes have not been addressed in the '05 G35x model. As I stated above both Infiniti and the dealer said that they are the same brakes but the warrenty has not be extended. Any '05 owners out there that are having brake problems please call Infinity customer service at 800-662-6200 and complain.
A short while after I bought my 04, I joined this forum. I noticed the complaints about the brakes. I order my Hawk pads, both front and rear, from Tirerack and changed them myself. That was 30k miles ago, and no issue with the brakes whatsoever
i have an 03 coupe, and once the brake warranty was over, i bought hawk pads and a set of aftermarket rotors. i havent had a problem since. i just ordered a set of hawk pads and aftermarket rotors for my wife's g35x as well. those garbage infiniti pads made so much brake dust, and i didnt clean the rims every day, so the brake dust stained the rims. im pretty sure next time around im not getting an infiniti, im thinkin german. its too bad too.

Good luck with that, ever noticed the rims on a BMW, and it's not just the fronts like the G was, it's all four!
Before I got my 06, I had an 05 Audi A4 1.8T and break dust in the back was horrible. Compared to my front rims (notice, the car was FWD) people would think I had powder coated rims in the back, lol.
With my 06, I have no break dust what-so-ever...
If 06's aren't covered under warranty, how much would a break change cost at the stealership?

I do a lot of freeway traveling so the brakes aren't used much compared to city driving.
I've engaged ABS for a couple of seconds at high speeds, high 90's low 100's...compared the brakes on my friends brand new 06 G35 Sedan with 70 miles and they looked exactly the same (I currently have 3,100 miles).
I could tell I had about half MM more wear than him in the front but the back's looked identically the same.
I'm hoping these can last for another 40 months until my lease is up as I don't want to spend any more money out of my pocket...filling up with Premium 91 is enough!
