Re: Scratch on Titanium Finish

The door handles and lock ***** are fine on my sedan. I've had my car for a year now. I think people are more worried about scratching the titanium finish on the centre console (radio and gear shift) area.

E500 is double the price, but if you get that...much love to ya anyway. I still love Benz's.

It's still a G thang!!

Re: Scratch on Titanium Finish

I've never heard of the titanium finish "peeling off"... I've heard mostly about concerns with scratches, which pretty much applies to any vehicle... Apply some CG to the interior, and you're worry-free; I've dropped my keys/change/cell phone on the console with not even the tiniest hint of a scratch.

Re: Scratch on Titanium Finish

Wow... that's really interesting. See if you can get a pic if possible-- I know it's a bit much to ask someone to go to a dealer and say "Can I get a picture of this defect?", but it's worth a shot

A lot of people scratch the heck out of their finishes, but there aren't too many cars you can't scratch up anymore Now, if the titanium finish is "peeling" as you say, that indicates that maybe it could be removed/replaced...? Good news, I suppose.

Re: Scratch on Titanium Finish

CG = Crystal Guard. It's a flouring/glass suspension that can be used in lieu of a wax. Check out the link that says Crystal Guard on the left side of the page, near the bottom. There are a few people on here that swer by it-- but I've got to admit, it does work wonders on the interior.

Re: Scratch on Titanium Finish

if you are the THAT concerned you know you can get it without that trim and besides If you can afford the new E series go for it. Even though it is nearly double the price of the G35
