?s about stock muffler

Hi there all you G35 sedan owners. I am working on a B13 Sentra project and looking for an OEM muffler that I can use for a custom exhaust setup. The muffler you have on your cars looks like a good candidate and I have a couple of questions. Oh, and yes, I searched before asking...

What is the diameter of the piping going into the muffler?

Can someone post a picture of the muffler (off the car of from underneath), so that I can see where the piping goes into it?

You help is greatly appreciated!

- I wish I can help you on the picture, but you can try search from Trey's post, he posted earlier a comparsion picture between a 03-04 and 05 mufflers.

- Inner diameter is 2.5"

- IMO, both 03-04 and 05 mufflers (i mean the rear most one) flow very well already, and is equipped with a valve that varies with exhaust flow to restrict sound and provide more low end torque

I used to have a SENTRA SER SPEC V, i purchased the full Borla exhaust system and that seemed to have both better sound and power! might want to look into. The sentra ser spec v has a similar muffler to the g35 in that its a variable system like he said to change the flow and the sound for different purposes. you might want to look into that as well

godmans: thanks for the pointer. I found Trey's post and it was very helpful. And 2.5" id is exaxtly what I am looking for

gfolo19: The sentra Spec V exhaust won't fit on the 1993 sentra - which is why I am building my own. 'cause I am in San Diego and the police are really strict about exhaust mods I want to keep it looking as OEM as possible. The sentra Spec V exhaust was my first choice, but the piping diameter is far too small. I am looking for 2.5", so the G35 sedan exhaust is perfect.

Now all I need to do is find someone who wants to sell their stock 03-04 G35 sedan muffler?

Thanks for the offer. I saw one in the marketplace for $75, but it was for a Coupe and there was one on Ebay that sold for $26 (plus shipping). So somewhere around there would be good I think. Unless someone wants to donate one to a good cause :P
