The dealer I got mine from doesn't offer any free oil changes though I got them to give me one for the trouble I had. I'm going to recommend that they re-think that policy especially since they advertise on here.

I had mine done at 1,200 also. It's those little metal shavings that bother me if they sit there.
It's not like an oil change costs $100, so it's worth it.

my friend told me that once u use synthetic oil, u can never go back into using regular or the engine will get messed up.. is this true?

yes it is.

yes if you switch to syn you can not go back. And it's primarily because you can not fully flush out the synthetic oil from the engine and you would be mixing. the two do not go together.

I did my first oil change at 2,000 miles. As others have stated above, probably not necessary but with the way I drive it gave me a bit more peace of mind.

Whoever told you this is wrong. The dino oils and synthetics are fully compatible with each other. Ever heard of a synthetic blend?

Sounds like what I'll be paying. Not sure what kind of oil, will have to ask.

I just did a little research and it appears at one time, you could not go back to regular oil when using synthetic. This is because synthetic expanded seals in the engine where regular oil would then leak. These days, this isn't the case - you can use either at any time.

Like the others said, if you ever feel the need for an oil change just do it.

You guys talk about the metal shavings but dont they just fall to the bottom of the oil pan and thus wont hurt the engine ?
