I always buy my oil from a auto parts store and my
filters (K&N) on line. Then I take my G to my friends
Vet shop. There's nothing better than having a lift,
beats lying on your back (which I've done a thousand
times). I generally spend some time checking air
pressure, looking for leaks and just wiping down
the undercarrige of the car....LOL

 

The pickup is located just above the bottom of the pan. The oil likely doesn't stay still long enough for the particles to fall out of solution anyway. Though the filter should catch the particles I prefer to change the oil on a new engine after about 500 miles.

I've never kept any of my new cars or cars with new engines long enough to see if it makes a difference, though.
