Man, trying to get a stock LSD installed

Man, I'm having a problem finding a dealer that will install the stock LSD I got myself. My local Infiniti dealer says they don't have anyone they'd even let crack the case open. I've turned to Nissan dealers to up my odd's and lower my costs and still. Local dealer won't do it, claim's he doesn't have the tools. Next closest Nissan dealer say's he doesn't have a man qualified enough. I'm talking to another Nissan dealer right now, he was supposed to call me back after getting around to speaking with 3 of his techs, well see. I've been sitting on the diff for about a month, I'd like to get it installed. Least this latest dealer is talking about guaranteeing and warranting the alignment job they have to perform on the diff's internal's that is so critical. Got my fingers crossed.

Do you have just the LSD core or the entire pumpkin? I read somewhere that you need to change the axle flanges as well, if you are just changing the innards.

Re: Man, trying to get a stock LSD installed

Well good new's. The dealer called me back after speaking to his techs and he's willing to do the swap for the same price that Jeff at performance nissan quoted me $550.

What I have is the core of the viscious assembly. All that has to be done is to purchase 2 oil seals (part# 38342-p9010) and 2 differential bearings (part#38440-0c000) Nissan part numbers and parts ment for the LSD diff. The swap will not work if you try and use the seals and bearings that your non LSD car already has. They will be unbolting the pinion gear out of my diff and bolting it onto the LSD I have. The dealer want's the car for several days so they can to the alignment properly, which is critical. They are willing to warranty the alignment job their doing on the diff, so I'm ok with all the time they say they need the car. I'm also having some royal purple gear oil sent to them to use when they put it all back together.

I got the LSD (the core, not the entire diff) from Jeff at performance Nissan. He did a post inside a thread discussing LSD options for base Z owners on my350z.com, he said he had a stock LSD sitting around and to please pm him. I got a deal that he asked me not to repeat, one of those you don't pass up kind. And the thing has like no miles on it to. The car(their racing 350Z) was unloaded off the car transporter when brand new and went right into the shop to have it's diff swapped out with something more suitable for racing.
