Loss of power???

Hello all, I have a quick question. I took my car in to have some old recalls done (brake switch & radio circuit board) and when I got it back the engine light came on soon after. I took it back to the dealership the next day and they said that it was a "weird" code and that they had to reset the brain. Now the car doesn't seem to have as much power as before. Was it something that they done? I also checked the air filter throught the slot on fron and it looks dirty. Could this be the culprit? What can I do to have this fixed since it isn't throwing any engine lights? Please help. I missed being pushed back into my seat upon acceleration.

Could just be your ecu. I'm sure they had to reset the ecu so if you have auto the ecu will have to 'learn' your driving style again. That's the most basic way I can explain it.

Thanks for the post. I think you're right because I just drove it today and the power seems to be returning. I didn't know these car could "learn" and behave a certain way. Thats pretty sweet.

Well that's really just a basic way of explaining. It doesn't really learn. It uses data from your daily driving(i.e. your last 50 shift points) to formulate future shift points. When the ecu is reset the car is then using baseline data to formulate shift points etc. because it no longer has the stored data that it was using.

I see. Ok here's another question and it may sound stupid but please bear with me. I'd like to get a double din dvd player without the nav and more speakers. Will this void my warranty? I plan to have it professionally installed. The Bose just doesn't cut it sometimes. The bass sounds muddy. I don't want a competition setup but I want to be able to enjoy the system.
