Personally, I remember a lot of incidents of being blamed for things and even though it might be possible to be "bribed" to look past it as a kid, eventually I would loose repsect for my dad even at a very young age since it was almost a cowardly thing to do. Hence, I am not really close to him and really do not share the same value system. It really has affected how much I share with any of my parents.
Of course I like to overthink and analyze things even when I was little, where this was just one aspect of our relationship and how I reacted to it. Not that isolated incididents won't happen or things have to be perfect but there is a possibility they will stop opening up to you.

Danm, I can hear my ex-wife's voice...."why do we always spend money on your car? Why can't we spend money on my car?" blah, blah, blah.

aahhhhh

(I once hit a stove in my parents garage with my z-28, they moved it!)

X I wish I could have seen the microwave hit the deck. Don't feel to bad, I just dropped off the G to the body shop this am for this years mishap. Remember Whitemarsh Collision by chance?

THis time my fault for backing into someone that wasn't there when I looked. OK it was 6 am and I was sleepy....and my door and front fender have a nice scrape from where I turned into the previously invisible Corolla.

The Nismo will be a nice addition

Crap! I remember your Whitemarsh incident. Bummer, backing into someone. Ouch! Funny thing I was saving the microwave for my cousin who hasn't picked it up for like 3 months. I didn't fling it far enough first time. Now it gets another fling to the end of the driveway. BTW - my neighbors officially think I'm psycho. Lol!

Tom - Days like that I wish I just traded up like you. Lol!

Can't wait for the new bumper though

I don't really have a problem with what has happened. Just pointing out one aspect of thinking and the path it could lead down. Of course everyone will be different with different reactions.

I was just kidding bro. I totally understand your point but it's a non-issue in my case. I'm well aware of the consequences verbal abuse can do to a child.
