Hello. I made a posting before but somehow it got deleted. So I will try to repost it. I received a letter from Infiniti regarding some sort of corrosion in the perforation on the side sash panel of my door. They sent a sticker to extend my corrosion warranty. The problem is, i really have no idea what to look for. Has anyone else received this letter? And do you have any idea what I should be looking for? Im not very car savvy and I have no one to explain this to me. Does anyone have any pictures maybe? That would be a great help. Is this something I should be worried about?

I Got The Same Letter Last Week....just Look For Rust Around The Doors And If You Got Rust Then Take It In Cuz Its Covered.

But it talks about the perfortation. I assumed that means on the inside of the car. The perforation on the inside of the door. Am I wrong?

 

Yea Open Your Door...look On The Inside Of The Door, Round The Bottom And Corners...

 

You have to pull back the rubber wx stripping to see that spot.

 

Perforation is a fancy name for rust. I also received this letter and my car is 2 yrs old this month. I actually do have rust on the inside part of my drivers side door. The rust is minor, but any rust should be dealt with, as it will only spread & get worse & worse. The rust I have is located on the vertical part of the door @ the window height and it's the edge of where the sheet metal for the door ends (hard to explain, but if you opened your door you'd find it).

Either way..just look around for possible rusting...may not be present now, may show up later. Cheers.
