Fuel Gage Problem
Fuel Gage Problem
Has anyone experienced a faulty fuel gage? Well I have one. I filled the tank right up, spilled fuel over the side of the car to make sure and even looked down the neck of the fuel pipe. The gage reads one "tick" below the full mark!

Nope, level ground and have been driving around for a while and it's getting lower (of course). I wonder if temperature could be a factor? It has been -10C in Newmarket, Ont. Canada for a few days now.

Re: Fuel Gage Problem
I have close to 10,000km on mine. It just started happening about a month ago. I have to take it in for an oil change and minor squeek and rattle issues with my centre console soon and I will have it "looked" into. I will update you guys on the outcome.

Re: Fuel Gage Problem
I had this happen once on another car (Mustang). It turned out that the sending unit in the tank was out of adjustment and needed to be recalibrated. This meant dropping the tank down to access the sending unit that sits in the access hole on top of the tank. Not sure if the G's access is on top or accessible without letting the tank down.
It's either that or the gauge is faulty. Good luck

Have to take the back seat out and access is through a panel under the butt of the passenger on the passenger side.

Re: Fuel Gage Problem
I happened to me...before I went in for the Fuel guage recall....I remember on that day, I just had my tanked filled, and I saw the indicator below FULL before I went in, and it was just a bit above FULL after they did the work. So somehow, it might have something to do with it. Good Luck.

Re: Fuel Gage Problem
Hey Merlin, If I'd thought about it , I could have looked that up myself. I still have the S/M for the Sedan. ..........
I'll have to check if they've got one out for the Coupe yet.
Thanks, (we're freezing up here)

Yep, they have one for the coupe now. Same exorbitant price U$275.00.
BTW, we are freezing down here in Florida too. Getting into the 30's in some areas.
