Anyone know why the G35x front bumper has an extra cooling duct in the middle under the licence plate? Is it functional or just to differentiate it's an X from the front?

I believe it's a differentiator- Then again, they say it's meant for additional cooling.

You answered your own question, it's for additional cooling for the front drive on the AWD.
Oh, and also cause our cars are special .

I would think it needed to be there for additional cooling for the front dif. I doubt they would make a different one that is functional for no reason.

I highly doubt it actually has a function.

The transfer case is off center on the passenger side. If anything, the Black mesh which the RWD has anyways should be able to cool if it needed anymore.
Really, how much would that little hole help? and if it did, why was it not included in the 04's?

Its prob just to differentiate the models.

this is just my opinion btw.

If you go to the Infiniti website (both US and Canada) and click on the G35 page that talks about the ATTESA, there is a nice clear photo of the G35x front view.
