Borla Exhaust

Is anyone in the orange county area with a borla exhaust willing to meet up so I can hear it? I am tired of waiting for the HKS and I rather have an exhaust that makes power, but I am worried about the sound being to loud.

Thanks

P.S. I can't post in regional forums where this belongs, so mods if you can move it, TIA.

I don't think you will have any problems with the Borla's volume if you don't have headers or high flow cats. It is the quietest exhaust for the sedan. I chose it over the Stillen (which makes more power) for just that reason.

Plus you will be able to sell your coupe mid pipe if you get the Borla.

Not that I know of, the borla is a tuned, dual cat-back system. I'm not even sure if you could use the coupe mid pipe. I would sell it.

Too much resonating, drone, volume, and vibration related to the fact that Borla (and Stillen) doesn't use flex sections on the y-pipe caused me to sell my Borla within 5 days of use. The buyer of the system got a 5whp gain with the system. If you have a 6MT, the Borla can probably be bearable assuming you install some flex sections and keep the rpms out of the drone range. I bought into the notion that the Borla exhaust is "tame". It's far from the truth. The system is quiet loud, especially in the cabin.

I have a Borla... love it, not too loud at all... no drone (might be different in the sedan, not sure why though). Almost sounds stock till you get on it. I'm usually in Diamond Bar on the weekends if you want to check it out.

I have driven a borla and a 2nd gen stillen. The stillen is louder, has way more drone and is just overall more aggressive. I had almost no drone with my borla but that could be because of the rpm range I was driving since the 5AT and 6MT differ.

Borla for the sedan isnt much louder than stock. Its deeper in certain ranges but nothing spectacular unless you pair it with intake and a spacer.

Gdup35sedan got his Borla about a month ago. Hes in San Diego. PM him

I never had that problem with my Stillen. I loved it. It doesn't drone once you put some miles on it and the ecu adjusts.

My car got 15 hp I believe it was after putting a Stillen Intake and Exhaust on.

odd, because Trey says his Stillen drones and causes transient vibrations.

I put 300 miles on the exhaust. It only got louder. I found the exhaust noise quite embarassing coming from a car like the G35. Above 5000rpms, I couldn't tell any difference in noise. From idle to 3500rpms, the car was much louder.
