Re: Wood dash

It looks nice, but it could look a lot nicer. It feels like the wood is overwhelming.

I agree. Looks like a bit too much wood.

Re: Wood dash

I just don't think wood looks good in a G35. I have yet to see a kit that, to me, doesn't look ugly inside the G. Maybe with a willow interior? That light-colored wood just doesn't seem right.

Re: Wood dash

It looks good, but it is a bit of wood overdose. Maybe if you left the shifter cover aluminum, that could help. Just my $.02

Re: Wood dash

Am I the only one who thinks it looks nice in the graphite interior? Or, at least, it looks less monotone than it did before.

Re: Wood dash

I think darker wood would look better. Also, leave it off the shifter and clock.
One good thing, we will now have something to cover the silver plastic with when it gets all scratched up after a few years.

Re: Wood dash

To each their own I say. The thing that bugs me about these kits is that it's just a stick on piece. It's not like your replacing the console with a huge piece of wood. I think real carbon fiber replacement pieces would be cool

Re: Wood dash

I have the factory wood option (front and back door handles and a strip on the shifter ****) with the Graphite interior. To me it is the ONLY factory interior that I liked much at all. The wood looks great with the Graphite as it adds just enough color to really set the black leather off. It also has a wonderful feel to it, very luxurious to the touch, way better(to my taste) than all the fake aluminum trim in the world.

To the original poster (and folks who like titanium) by all means buy what YOU prefer, after all, you will be the one driving it. I got exactly what I wanted and couldn't be happier with the look. I bet you will be too, if you get what YOU think looks good!

Enjoy!!

Re: Wood dash

hey geespot... i have the same wood option but with the willow interior. the silverish trim just wasn't my thing. that kit sure looks like a lot of wood but it's nice to know we have an option if we majorly scratch up the console.

Re: Wood dash

g35girl, I surely hope neither one of us is THAT hard on our consoles, but your right, if disaster occurs that would be one option for a fix. I would like to see a sedan like the one pictured in person. Photographs can be soooo misleading, in both positive and negative ways at times. I personally like beautifully figured wood whether it's in a car, a guitar, a piece of furniture, a gunstock or whatever. Nature Rocks!!

Re: Wood dash

I bought a factory-match wood kit for my Willow interior sedan, and it looks great. I don't have it all around the instrument binnacle and on the clock though. That's too much. Just on the console up to the Navi/storage bin and on the window switches works great. Kinda dresses up the interior. I do agree with whoever said that a darker wood looks better in a G with Graphite interior. Less contrast, I guess.I could post pics if anyone wants to see the way it looks...
