Tail light paint
Tail light paint
Has anyone tryed using that tail light paint that you can smoke you lights with? I bought blues overlays and cant findanyone around columbus that will put them on and i tryed and fail miserably. Heres a link to some that i found on Ebay. http://search.ebay.com/tail-light-pa...QQfkrZ1QQfnuZ1
thanks
thanks
I never put overlays on a car, but I think I would give it a shot myself before painting the tails. There's no turning back once they are painted.
I was under the impression that any tint shop could do the overlays, but I guess that is not true. Good luck.

yeah the overlays are impossible to put on. Night shade is a transparent spray. Ive used it on tails before.

I put the overlays on my 03.5 Sedan. Make sure to wet them good first as per directions. Then, start the overlay on an edge. I started closest to the front of the light. Squeegee the area where you applied the film so that it will adhere. Next, begin to use a hair dryer to soften the film. The film should begin to stretch. I would get the top aligned first, then, proceed towards the bottom of the light. You may find that the material will stretch past the light itself. No problem. Take a razor blade and gently trim the material.
There is a slight problem for the 06 because there is a slight crease in the light itself. Nevertheless, judicious use of a hair dryer should help you get everything in place. You will notice that when the film sits in the hot sun for a few days, it will begin to shrink. It definitely looks better after a couple of days than when first applied. My car looks awesome with it.
P.S. Make sure to have a towel to wipe the sweat from your face and a cool drink to keep the anger level from getting to you.

putting those overlays on are nearly impossible...i went to a pro tint shop and he fukd it up worse then i did...had the nerve to charge me 30$ but thats another story...if i were you i dont think i would spray them because u cant go back if you dont like the look...the tinter recommended that i should have just put regular tint on it and they will cut it perfectly...jmo
I put on the GTR overlays with no problems.
I would do them way before trying to paint them. I tinted the tail lights on my old SE-R and they did not look as good as the overlays.
