Nasty Engine Bay Sight
My buddy in Cali just sent me this:

I can't blame it, I get lazy after a big meal too.
Fortunately we were able to coax it out without getting sprayed. It is a cute little rascal but it has no business in our home!
Last night while I was waiting to see if it would be cloudy or clear enough for astro-imaging I was watching a bit of narrowband action on the Science Channel (lots of nebulae in images: nearly all of which were tricolor emission line images but I digress), and I noticed Tarzan (the cat) perk up. Suspecting the skunk had dropped in I turned around to see it in the foyer. Again we were able to coax it out, this time it shot out the kitty door into the garage. I followed it out to the garage and saw it exit the second kitty door to leave the premises.
OK fine, we decided to lock the kitty door into the house so that it could not come back in: besides Tarzan has a litter box so he's fine if locked in for the night.
At 5am today I was awakened by something making a ruckus in the hallway. It was a skunk that apparently had been locked in the house all night and it was trying to get out through the locked kitty door.
Again we were able to coax it out without a spraying incident.
I am wondering if a family of them have moved into the house in our absence. We've been looking and sniffing around but haven't seen signs of any more of them but as Christel points out: they are like little Houdinis and are very good at squeezing into hiding places etc.
All it takes is being out of town for a few days and the skunks move it!
They sure are cute but they look a lot better outside than inside, believe me.

It's the filtering he uses. He takes three exposures on different wavelengths and then combines them with a photo shop program. The colors are false, they are added after the fact. He built all the telescopes himself. Some cost over 50K! Look at some of the pix of his equipment.
