Lousy FM Radio Reception..

I recently bought a '04 sedan. It has the stock "Bose" sound system. And I must admit the FM radio reception is not what I'd expect from "Bose".Anyone else with this problem.Car still has lots of warranty.

Rubber Side Down Brothers.

blk/blk;Aero;Premium: after market Alpine Nav.

I have had the car since it was brand new, and had the problem since the 1st day. I wonder if the dealer can do anything about it?

This probably isn't your problem considering the time of year it is, but I definitely notice radio signal degradation when I have the rear defroster on. I figure the electricity running through the defroster wires interferes with the radio antenna wires running just above.

Maybe the fix is just to go XM/Sirius.

If the dealer did window tint on the car, ask them if it is metallic or not.

I had a very bad problem with radio reception, required 3 trips to the dealer for them to realize the problem was they used metallic window tint and it was interfering with the radio reception.
They changed it out to a non-metallic tint.
Yeah- and only required 4 trips to the dealer.

Metallic tint can do it. A loose antenna connection can do it.

I have to warn you the stock bose stereo sucks in the G. The non-bose actually sounds better.

Isn`t the radio head unit made by Clarion. I know it was in my TL`s Bose. I suspect something similar with the G-35. The FM in my cheap-a$$ Dodge Ram has better selectivity and sensitivity than the vaunted Bose. Audio is not as good, however.

The only way to get good quality radio is HD or XM/Sirius

My wife has the same complaint in her (2004). The dealer could not find any thing wrong with the connections.

I think it's just a nissan problem. I had a 04 Titan LE fully loaded with the rockford fosgate system in it and the FM was pretty week too. Lots of people complained about it. Also the claimed RF system in the 04 Titans was stamped clarion, so I won't be suprised if the Bose was made by clarion too. It's called sub-contract to the cheapest laborer, and all manufacturers do it.

I have the 05 upgraded Bose. Sounds decent, radio works fine, when I bother to listen to it.

I mostly listen to my MP3s.
