"So will the GT-S bit be a future offering at your local Nissan dealer? Well, apart from the supercharger and specially tuned Bilsteins, there's nothing a Z owner couldn't source himself here. But Hardcastle points out that Nissan hasn't done any durability testing on supercharger-equipped Z's and the cost of homologating such a beast for production rules it out entirely. Which means this particular car will remain firmly in the 'publicity stunt' camp."

That supercharger is sweet... shut down with the push of a button!

Looks like a centrifugal SC. Intereesting for a production car. Usually they use a twin screw/roots type a la Jaguar, MB.

It will be hard to get CARB with a centrifugal SC but not impossible. The numbers are low enough so if the boost is only around 5-6psi they could do it.

Infiniti will have to do something like this very soon. Given the upcoming IS500, the twin-turbo 335, M3, S4, RS4 and all the AMG cars, they just will not be able to keep up. I think they would find a much larger market here than expecting everyone to pony up huge $ for the GT-R.

I was thinking the same thing! How awesome would it be to purr up to a stop light, flick a switch, and then get that sc whine!
