I agree and the trick is how you actually get in and sit down onto the seat. If you just slam your bottom onto the side seat cushion rather than the middle part (where your bottom should be when you're driving), then slide back and rotate yourself into position, your seat will crack very quickly. (Sorry, if that was a bit graphic! ) However, if you try and land your bottom a bit further into the seat, it makes a world of difference. I have very little creases on my 2003 Maxima SE side seat cushion even after 4 years and 96,000 km because I am always conscience about it whenever I open the door - and I've only conditioned the leather three times in its lifetime! On top of that, the Maxima's leather is probably a few grades lower in quality than the Gs! No conditioning in the world can save the constant pressure from all the weights you put on the leather day in day out so just be a bit mindful when you get in the car.

Getting out of the car is a bit better because you're not dropping yourself onto the seat. Just put your feet out and lift yourself up with your feet, not your thighs.

I know, it's like acrobats, but hey, it keeps the leather looking good so it'd be worth it!

Does anyone have pics of this abnormal wear and tear? Just curious so I can compare to mine. I do have some cracks...

Leather is going to appear to have "cracks" in it, it's not a crack, more like a crease, and it's normal for that to happen. My '05 still looks great after little more than a year and 11k miles. My '04 graphite interior still looked great after almost 2 years. As far as a loaner, you can't judge by those, they aren't cared for at all, probably never had the seats cleaned, and people abuse a loaner a lot ot times as well.

I have an 03.5 with graphite. Minor creases but still looks like new. I do use leather conditioner a couple of times a month.

Keep in mind if you constantly condition the leather, it will get softer and a bit more loose hence the additional creasing.

Are any of you guys heavy? I hate to say it, but if you're heavier than 200lbs or so or have a big butt, you will wear a seat out quicker.

I'm 230 and the drivers seat is a crease fest. Looks like hell. Remember the leather in the old 280's and 300's - looks like that.

I weigh ~195, which is probably about average these days. I dunno about the big butt factor though; I'll be sure to post some pics for your evaluation.

Big butt = Less surface pressure!

I believe the bigger the butt, the better for the seats since your weight is distributed out onto a larger surface, thus less stress on the leather per square inch.

My 3 cents,

That's right, I'm a big guy (275lbs) and my driver's side seat is still in great condition. The passenger side and rear seats are actually worst than driver's side seats! I will search on GOOGLE for evidence of big butt less --> less crease phenomenom.

My 3 cents,
These cars have pretty narrow seats and I'd think a big butt would overwork the lateral hip support therefore stressing the leather I'm 190lbs, but I'm 6' 2" and a slim so my booty sits well inside the lateral support.

I'm actually referring to my large surfaced, spongy seat moulding butt! LOL

I can't believe we're graphically describing our asses to each other... I'm going to go have a beer and do something manly (clean the car).
