I think the G35x is a great car and would highly recommend it. Like Indycase above, I also came from a Maxima and the difference in driving in inclement weather is like night and day. The G feels much more stable (in rain as well as snow) and handles much better than the Max.

I also checked out the Legacy when I was shopping for a new car and it wasn't bad. It was pretty quick and if modded could become a real sleeper car, but the interior was lacking a little bit. Reliability kept me away from Audi.

If you're looking for best bang for the buck, the G would be a good choice. You get a good engine, some luxury, and an overall good looking car.

Just my 2 cents. Good Luck with whichever car yo go for.

Not suprised that the G handels better than the Maxima. I've heard good things about the 3rdGens, but IMHO if the 4thGen has a big weakness it's its chassis.

Looked at the Legacy too. Seems like a first rate car. I need to look into it a little more though.

So the G35X has a different engine than the GT-R. Anything else significantly different? E.g. Could I drop the GT-R's brake package into the G35X (provided the rims were large enough) or would that, like the GT-R's tranny be something that just wouldn't match? What will be interesting to see is if the components of the new '07 GT-R e.g. tranny will be able to drop into the new G35s...

Why don't I wait for the new GT-R release? I like the price of the G35X primarily, but I also don't like the GT-R's asthetics. If I had money to blow I still would go for the G35X and then spend a ton modding it. I love sleepers.

Good to know. But the RS4 is not exactly in the same price point of a G35X.

Curious. Do they go 100% RWD when not activated?

If I were in the situation I'd get the RS4.

Speaking of the Legacy, I looked at the GT Limited too but the residual is so low (i.e. it depreciates very fast) that it eneded up costing more than my G35x with the Premium Package. Obviously, the G35x is a class higher than the Legacy and the G comes with a better warranty so it was a no brainer in my case.
