You just want it gone so the cup holder is there?

If so I would think you can just remove the hinge and it will come off. I would need to go out to my car and look to be sure.

move your seat back

if you mod it to move it forward, you'll end up hitting it with your elbow evertime you shift. Plus if its a 6mt, when do you have time to rest your arm?

I wish it was a little taller and adjustable so it could come forward when you want it there. I can't move my seat back because then my arms and legs aren't comfortable.

I think a bigger flaw of the 6mt arm rest is the lack of rubber bushings to prevent it metal contact from squeaking in certain situations. Rubbing some candle wax on the contact areas seems to have resolved the problem completely.
