Funny........ Last time I left mine unplugged, I started the car with no problems, until I noticed the SES light. Turned the motor off, plugged the MAF in, reset the computer and then restarted car. Light went away.

check the MAF, if the MAF is connected you might wanna check the plugs, i know its a PITA but when i replaced my plugs i was getting a SEL and it was iddleing kind of weird, went back to the plugs and one if the plugs was bent at the tip, replaced it, problem solved. btw the car does starts with the MAF disconected, it happened to me after i cleaned it

Did you check the gap on the plugs before you installed them?

Did you make sure all the vacuum lines were re-installed?

In my experience with platinum plugs, they don't require or recommend gapping.

if i was you i would go back to what you replaced, check the plugs if the MAF is connected.... it happened to me and i had no idea what to do so i decided to go back and check all i had installed, it was the plugs and i had no clue it was that since i just installed new ones, im not saying it will be the plugs but just go back and double check everything you installed, i dont think theres anything wrong with your car

btw i check the gapping on my NGK platinum and it was fine, dont need to be gapped

what code are you getting? perhaps it's throttle body related since your idle is high...

Did you unplug the connection to the throttle body during all of this? If so, that might have thrown a code if you tried to start w/o it connected. And it might explain the odd idle. I believe you need to do the idle relearn procedure if you unplug this. Drive by wire thing

why would it be throttle related if to connect an intake or the plenum theres no need to disconnect it?? did you try to reset de ECU? disconnect the negative for 8 minutes, after that press the brake pedal for 30 seconds or so, conect terminal

the scanner read throttle body problem, so we cleared it. but i noticed a small leak coming from my plenum again. so i have to fix this cause its going to throw a code again i am assuming.
