I know this idea has been pitched before but haven't heard anything about it in a while.

We have about 41000 members on this forum?

Well if everyone puts in a dollar and we do some sort of raffle then we could get a brand new G35 sedan or coupe based on the winners preference.

We should hold the raffle every month. 12 months = 12 dollars a year could end up being a new G!

I know that there are a few factors to workout but this could work?

How many premier users are there...base the "base" of interest off those who already are willing to put in. Just add 12 buck to the annual membership...and only draw from those guys!

i posted a similar idea on maxima.org...it was a lotto for members mods. so whoever wanted to put in a dollar or two can do so and every month you raffel it off and the winner get a few hunderd bucks for springs, sway bars, detailing, whatever.

problem with this is who would run it, and how to prove its done fair???????

Over the years there have been 40k members. I would bet there are only under 5k of us who check this forum more than a few times a year and maybe a couple thousand who check it often.

I'm in. I live about 30 miles from Altered Atmosphere I could call them and try to set something up. We could at least get the one kit for $13,000. Find out how many people really want to do it and if it comes down to $20 a piece I would still do it!

$5 a piece would be 2600 people needed

$10 would be 1300

$15 would be 867

$20 would be 650....we can get at least 650 people. I have inquired on this kit and it is everything with about 32 hours for install and tuning!

Ahhhhh.....boobies....... ......wait, oh yeah back to the topic. I think this would be a kick a$$ idea. Seems like it would be easy enough for ADMIN to open a payment account (Paypal, etc) for a specified amount of money ($10, $15, $20). The account would have a deadline. All memebers could then deposit their money into the account until the deadline. Once the deadline has expired for depositing money, the accound is closed to any further entrance. The total money is added up and the prize(s) are then determined based upond the amount of money/number of people that actually entered (I.E. if the dollar amount is set at $15 and a total of 700 members enter, the total prize money is $10,500. That could be split into 3 prizes of $3500 or whatever). All the members that entered are then placed into a pool and the winners are picked from the pool of names. Award could then be in the form of a Paypal transfer back to the winners' accounts.

Obviously, this is just a general idea. The details and legal mumbo-jumbo would have to be worked out.
