Yea, and if those price differences are fact, a savy buyer would buy the car at a good price, and put it on a train....
And no offense weaver, but the last place I'd look to buy from is LA. Unfortunately, there have been many a scam down there from people trying to sell Katrina damaged cars as "perfect". Not your fault, but true. Lower your price or keep it. And as said above, lose the mods. They only hurt when selling.

I dislike selling cars. Even more than buying them. Always feel I'm not getting as good of deal as I should be.
My history is:
drove one car to the salvage yard and sold it. Got $25 less than what the dealer offered in trade in, and I was able to give my sister 2 good tires off the car this way, as well as retrieve the radio. The combo was worth more than the car sold for
Traded in my next car when I bought a used one from a dealer. Underpriced, but partially (I hope) made up for by purchasing the car below blue book.
Sold the next car private party, just so I wouldn't be worrying about having 2 negotiations going at the same time at the dealer. Ended up selling the car for $500 less than it was probably worth, but by this time, I was tired of the listing/selling process. I had more calls from places like autotrader.com wanting me to buy a listing through them than actual interested customers.

Hmmm.....I have used autotrader for three car sales and have had very good luck. Got my asking price on all three.

Don't recall hearing about autotrader in 1989 or 1995
I'm in a smaller city, and I have my doubts that people will drive 100-200 miles just to buy a basic sedan. It is probably different for a less common car like the G35.
I know of people who have gone 700 miles for a Mitsubisu (sp) 3000. But a 95 Taurus

i have one for sale listed in autotrader in Northern VA, 04 6 speed premium and xm with only 25k miles for 25 and have not gotten a single call either...except for people selling me listings as well...
part of it is the new model coming out...some are waiting to see the new one before deciding, and it instantly puts downward pressure on the value of the previous generation.
I would say everything up through 06 is still gen 1. It takes a major overhaul to change generations. Not just an interior refresh or bump in HP.

I say $25k is a little high, not impossible to sell, but probably would take much longer. How about you fix the bumper first and then sell it, because many buyers want trouble-free, they don't want to deal with repair after they bought the car. They rather find one with absolutely no obvious problem.

I am going to call first thing Monday and bring the car in to have the bumper fixed. It still has issues, but those are typical of highway driving, rock chips, bug marks, etc. I tried buffing them out, but the cost to have the bumper and hood repainted wouldn't be worth it. Once the car is fixed, I plan on putting it on autotrader and have already started the process of selling the mods on the car and will return it to stock. I think between selling the car and the mods, I could get 25k. I plan on listing the car for 24k stock and seeing where it goes.

Your ad on Cars.com does not mention any mods. In fact your car has very little in the way of mods so that won't affect the sale in my opinion. I work in the auto industry (Autotrader.com Consultant) and can tell you that the G35 is very very soft right now. Meaning there's a lot of them out there. More competition than ever. These cars sell cheap at the auction too. Dealers pick them up and mark them up 4-6K!!! Most of the dealers I work with have them on their lots. Many private parties are selling too. Just check Autotrader.com and you will see. Do a search on ATC in your local area to see what others are asking for theirs and price your accordingly. I did a 2005 search for sedans in my area and if you price it between 24K and 25K you would be ok. BTW - Many more people search Autotrader.com in comparison to Cars.com. Most of my dealers do not get good results from Cars.com. Better with ATC. 1/3 of all used cars purchased in US found online at Autotrader.com!!!!! Post it there but price it right. Hope that helps. It is a very nice looking sedan BTW. Like the chrome wheels.

PS -for all of you posting cars for sale on Autotrader.com, post 9 photos and don't be shy with the comments. That's the beauty of the internet compared to magazines. Compare similar cars to your own and price competitvely for best results.
