Bad Gasoline?
Well, it all started about two days ago when I noticed that my accleration wasn't what it used to be. By "what it used to be" I mean when I stomp on the gas and at full throttle, I would feel the car pull like a mother once I hit 4k. Then about two days ago as I was on the highway, I tried to pass someone and floored it but I barely moved. The acceleration felt like I was driving a 1996 Toyota Camry! I couldn't figure out what was different about the except the gas I used. Normally I go with Shell 93 octane but Mobile 1 93 octane was considerably less so I filled up there instead. The station had a sign posted "Gas Sale". The gas was about 14 cents cheaper per gallon than anywhere else and so I was like "good deal". Then thats when I think all my problems started with the lag in acceleration. I then drove 70+ miles to burn whatever gas I had left from Mobile 1 in my car and quickly filled it with Shell 93 again and now my car seems to be returning back to normal.
Anyone else experience this type of lag due to gas?
Quick note: Before I switched back to the Shell, I did a ECU reset, cleaned the MAF sensor with CRC cleaner, and I just had an oil change 500 miles ago.

Sign, sign everywhere a sign.............
What's that saying, "If it seems to good to be true it
probably isn't!" Look what that tank of gas cost you
and not just the $ but in time spent also.....I wish we
had 93 here in Ca.....LOL

was it only when you stomped on the gas that you felt the lag? If it was the gas I would think that it would be a constant problem and not just trying to pass. i was going to suggest your MAF but since you said you cleaned it I am not sure. I once filled up with a tank full of watered down gasoline and the car hesitated the whole time. Also my CEL light came on as a result and when I took it in the dealer told me that the light came on because of the bad gas. Apparently our cars have sensors and can tell this. So I removed all the old gas and filled it up again and after 5 or so miles the light went off. You didnt say if your CEL light came on or not but if it did then I would say it was the gas.

My CEL didn't come on. The acceleration was horrible throughout the whole powerband. I first noticed issues with the car when I tried to pass someone on the highway. After that I paid more attention to the car's acceleration and noticed the performance as a whole dropped.
