i'll race you with my m3 convert 6spd with the top down and see if you can beat it. i guarantee after 100 races and 50 dollars in gas i will have 5-7 cars on your from 35-100mph EVERYTIME. your friend just sucks are driving. smg is not for everyone that doesn't know how to use it.

I just dun think that a G can keep up with a M3 Convert SMG... maybe a Z with a very good driver like Alberto..but not a G, it is just too heavy

 

the Z weighs in between 3339 and 3404....thats all models.....not that much lighter.

The older models of z33 are in the range of 3200s.

I witnessed this at sr27 about a month ago.
The 06 mt g and the 06 mt m3.!!
The m3 walked the g at least 4 cars.!!
and they went from a dig.!!
The m3 quit after he was pulling.!!
I am not a big bimmer fan myself but you gotta give credit where credit is due.!! Plain and simple.!!!

5-7 cars from 35-100 mph? I don't think so. Faster? Sure. But I don't believe 5-7 cars worth for a second. I should dig up some dynos of an M3 and G35 and simulate a race with equal ideal drivers to see what would happen...

ppl are mixing the regular m3 with the convertible like there's no difference when there is a significant difference... the convertible weighs nearly 3800 lbs!

 

bs!! show me a vid! i'll go rent a beat up e46 vert (ad 4 fat guys)with a slipping tranny and race for money on car lengths..

 

6mt G and m3 vert both have similar 0-60s and 1/4 mile times. and we all know G drivers are better haha jk.

i've left verts in the dust, picking up a car length by 80-90, and i just drive an auto G... sure it's only street racing but that's my experience

 

stock 6mt z and smg convertible M3 would be an interesting race but M3 having the Edge.

BTW wrong driver in a M3 = disaster for the car.
I myself have pulled on 2 M3s on the street and lost badly to a 6MT coupe m3 with an excellent driver in it.
